NIC Startup DigiKhata wins a grant in Karandaaz FIWC Challenge 2020

The National Incubation Center is proud to announce that, in the Karandaaz Financial Inclusion for Women Challenge 2020, DigiKhata, a startup from its 8th cohort, has received a reimbursement grant of up to PKR 15 million.

The challenge was organized by Karandaaz to support companies that create women-centered financial products or build solutions that enable women to access formal financial services.

DigiKhata, currently incubated at the National Incubation Center, launched a challenge with a company that empowers small women’s companies with credit recording and recovery tools and encourages financial services to thrive. The service is usable on both the app and the web and enables the management of business and personal ledgers on a mobile phone. The all-in-one financial solution facilitates faster return on credit with timely reminders via SMS and WhatsApp, and provides users with multilingual assistance, offline services, and the ability to manage multi-customer accounts with a seamless experience.

The founder of DigiKhata, Adnan, is planning to accelerate the adoption of financial services by companies, especially those operated by women.

Financial inclusion for women, especially in Pakistan, is a major obstacle to women’s participation in business. At DigiKhata, we aim to remove the barrier and make it easy for businesses led by women to implement financial solutions for their growth. We think financial services should not be a roadblock, but rather an accelerator that allows more and more women to start their own companies.

The DigiKhata team is thrilled to win the grant and aspires to invest it on business development. The start-up currently operates two business lines, DigiKhata and Digi Dokaan. DigiKhata has an active user base that allows small businesses to manage credit, while Digi Dokaan, an app that allows users to open an online store within 30 seconds, is currently being tested. With the reimbursement grant, the team expects to soon introduce the service for use by companies.
