Official: Vivo Has Started Manufacturing Smartphones in Pakistan - Startup Pakistan

In the Pakistani market, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has begun manufacturing devices. The company recently confirmed that they would produce smartphones in Pakistan, but haven’t announced which phones they intend to produce.

Vivo has announced some of their development rates on their mobile phones. In the near future, people will be buying 32 million phones in Pakistan and spending $1 billion on imports.

At the time of writing, Vivo has 29 PTA certified installations, and 17 are operational and 3 of them are mobile assemblers. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) have estimated these figures.

The firm has said more brands will join their partnership, but which brands they will be hasn’t been revealed. Reports have it that Oppo and Samsung are planning on developing local production in the region, but there is no official confirmation of this.

In Pakistan, smartphones have been overpriced for quite some time, but in the past few years, prices have finally caught up. We hope to see more of Vivo.
