PTCL Group Successfully Conducts 5G Trials in Pakistan - Startup Pakistan

At the ceremony, Syed Amin Ul Haque, Federal Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunication, along with other dignitaries, gave an overview of the live 5G use scenarios. The demonstrations included remote surgery, cloud gaming and a review of anticipated implementations of 5G technology in Pakistan.

Furthermore, PTCL Group was able to reach the highest data rate with download speeds reaching 1,685 Gbps during the 5G trial in a restricted area.

5G will promote Pakistan’s digitalization by linking more individuals with robust purpose-built technology, opening up opportunities for industries as well as citizens. This technology will allow future innovation in sectors such as distance learning, public safety, transportation, health, manufacturing, etc.

Importantly, the technology will provide enabling levers for delivering richer services and improving customer experience, not just for mobile operators like Ufone, but also for fixed-line operators such as PTCL, which provide fixed-wireless servers.
