Daewoo Express Pakistan, Skywell Automobiles of China, and Hitachi ABB Power Grids of Sweden signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday to revolutionise Pakistan’s auto market.

These three companies will establish a supply chain for electric vehicles and charging facilities in Pakistan as part of the MoU. Hitachi ABB will establish a technical support base and charging infrastructure in Pakistan, while Daewoo and Skywell will partner to launch electric buses and other electric vehicles.

Skywell will bring its state-of-the-art electric buses to Pakistan’s automotive market in Step I. In Phase II, it will build a manufacturing plant in the country to manufacture electric vehicles.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the official residence of Sweden’s Ambassador, Henrik Persson. The ceremony was attended by the Ambassadors of South Korea, Switzerland, and Japan, as well as Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, who was the chief guest.
