Sheikh Humayun Sayeed has been named as the Convener of the FPCCI Central Standing Committee on “International Affairs, Trade & Investment” for the year 2021 by Mian Nasser Hyatt Magoo, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry. According to a press release, his nomination reflects the President FPCCI’s trust in him because of his proven ability to lead Pakistan’s trade and industry as well as the growth of foreign trade and investment. On being appointed, Sheikh Humayun Sayeed thanked the president and announced that he would use his best efforts to address business community problems in international trade and investment by engaging foreign institutions strategically located around the world. He went on to say that our foreign policy is well-designed in terms of promoting Pakistan as a dynamic, modern, moderate, and democratic Islamic country that is establishing friendly ties with all countries around the world and consolidating our commercial and economic cooperation with the international community. He believes that the business community’s desire to be active in the country’s foreign affairs in order to deal with economic and commercial issues is critical, and that it will have a positive effect on the growth of our international trade, investment, and the promotion of Pakistan’s soft picture.

In light of the current situation, he went on to say that Pakistan’s government should urgently develop new foreign policy dimensions aimed at fostering global peace and economic stability. Sheikh Humayun Sayeed also demanded that Pakistan’s international missions ensure long-term contact with the FPCCI, the private sector’s representative apex trade body, in this regard.

SMH International Group’s Chief Executive is Sheikh Humayun Sayeed. He has previously served as Vice President of the FPCCI, Vice Chairman of the Insurance Association of Pakistan, and Chairman of the FPCCI Standing Committees on Foreign Investment, Banking, Credit, and Finance, as well as Chairman of the FPCCI Standing Committee on Insurance. He was also the Chairman of the FPCCI’s Pakistan-UK Business Council and Pakistan-UAE Business Council.

Sheikh Humayun Sayeed is an Honorary Life Member of the Islamic CCI and the SAARC CCI, as well as a former Director of the National Bank of Pakistan and the Founder Director of the Bank of AJK. Sheikh Humayun Sayeed is engaged in a variety of trade, industry, and corporate services endeavours.
