Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at LUMS is consolidating its role as Pakistan’s premier business school. LUMS is ranked number one in Pakistan and in the top 200 globally for Business and Management Studies in the recently released ‘QS World University Rankings 2021 by Topic’. This represents a major improvement over the previous year, when LUMS was ranked in the top 250.

Additionally, LUMS has been ranked among the world’s top 250 universities in the Accounting and Finance subject field. Additionally, the University is the only institution in Pakistan to be ranked in this group.

“This is a proud moment for the faculty at SDSB, as well as our staff, students, and alumni. This ranking represents a watershed moment for SDSB’s overall academic excellence and is one of many metrics attesting to the School’s long history of management leadership in Pakistan and beyond,” Dr. Arshad Ahmad, LUMS Vice Chancellor, shared.

The QS World University Rankings by Topic classifies the world’s best universities according to 51 subject areas. The rankings are intended to assist prospective students in identifying the world’s top schools in their field of study.

Dr. Alnoor Bhimani, Honorary Dean, SDSB, comments, “It is heartening to see SDSB grow in the QS World University Rankings this year, as it represents the School’s mission to build ideas and people for the benefit of business and society.” The new programmes introduced this year, as well as faculty productivity in research and our blended learning methods, all contribute to SDSB’s ability to increase its positive impact. This is a continuous course of creativity in business education that we are pursuing in order to prioritise the needs of Pakistan and the region.”
