Saqib Azhar, CEO and Co-Founder of Enablers, recently expressed his views to the government, urging Prime Minister Imran Khan that if Pakistan really desires “Made in Pakistan” goods on a global scale, the government should subsidize foreign shipping costs in order to raise international E-Commerce.
While delivering his message via his official social media accounts, he also mentioned that Pakistani postal service is inexpensive but extremely slow. When we ship a small item internationally, such as to the United States of America, the shipping costs range about 5,000+ dollars, including customs handling and tax, while when China ships to the United States, the shipping costs are less than $1, and they sometimes provide free shipping with small items ordered through Ali Express.
According to Saqib Azhar, this is the fundamental role that our government must recognize and subsidize shipping in order to help eCommerce.
He added that he and his team of Enablers, as well as other E-Commerce platforms, are responsible for bringing dollars into the country. Although paying taxes to the government is necessary, the government should consider subsidizing shipping costs as well.
Saqib Azhar empowers others in Pakistan to learn about e-commerce, digital marketing, and technology. He sells goods and is associated with Amazon; however, as an enthusiast for promoting Pakistan’s e-commerce, he has expressed his desire for the government’s support.
In today’s world, strong internet connectivity at a high speed is required; however, Pakistan falls short in this area as well. He has urged for strong national internet access so that the work performed through the internet and connecting internationally will assist everybody in bringing in more dollars and completing deals and projects on time.
According to reports, Azhar has also requested that the Prime Minister establish a forum through which E-Commerce or digital marketers can advocate for government assistance.
