PCB chairman vows next HBL PSL 7 in Pakistan

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani

Congratulating the event staff, six franchises, and all PSL commercial partners, particularly HBL, on the successful conclusion of the HBL-Pakistan Super League-6 Tournament, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani has assured cricket fans that the next HBL-PSL edition in 2022 will be staged in Pakistan and in front of our people.

“Fans are the soul and spirit of any sport,” Mani stated. Without them, no event is certain to be a complete success. The PCB, players, and commercial partners all missed the fans’ presence, but the remaining 20 PSL-6 matches in Abu Dhabi were held under odd times and tough circumstances. The planning for next year’s event will begin in July, and by the fourth quarter, I am hopeful that we will be able to share complete details with our fans, allowing them to begin making plans to attend the gathering of some of the game’s most accomplished cricketers at one of the most closely followed cricket league tournaments.”

“This was the impetus for the PCB to convince Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to play Test matches in Pakistan for the first time in over a decade, followed by hosting the entire HBL PSL 2020 in Pakistan,” Ehsan Mani explained. Nonetheless, I am overjoyed that, despite their inability to attend the Abu Dhabi matches, fans and supporters continued to enthusiastically support, encourage, and admire the event, players, and their favourite clubs, resulting in higher eyeballs and amazing digital numbers. The PCB has always appreciated its fans and supporters and recognises their commitment to the sport’s growth. Considering how well we managed the Covid-19 pandemic collaboratively, I remain hopeful and optimistic that our complete cricket season in 2021-22, during which New Zealand, England, the West Indies, and Australia will all visit Pakistan, will be played in front of our supporters.”

“I want to express my gratitude to all cricketers who underwent and adhered to the Covid-19 protocols put in place for their health and safety,” Mani added. I’d also like to express my gratitude to all team owners that supported us throughout the planning stages of the Abu Dhabi leg matches.
