Zargham Khan Durrani

Zargham Khan Durrani has assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of MCB Islamic Bank as of today, February 21, 2023.

He succeeded Muhammad Afaq Ahmed, who held the same position for less than a year.

Zargham Khan Durrani has over 27 years of experience in the banking industry. Mr. Durrani was Group Head of Retail Banking (SEVP) at MCB Bank before joining MCB Islamic Bank.

Durrani has a distinguished history of turning visions into reality. He is a seasoned banking executive with direct expertise in branch banking, digital banking, SME / Commercial loans, and establishing and managing highly successful large teams by coaching, motivating, and leading from the front. The retail division of MCB Bank’s transformation over the past 15 years is evidence of his achievement.

In addition to MCB Bank, he has held positions with Standard Chartered Bank, Union Bank, and other domestic and foreign financial companies. He has also held the position of Director of MCB Bank’s wholly-owned subsidiary MNET Service (PVT) (now merged into MCB Bank). MNET was the first organisation in Pakistan to offer a secure electronic inter-bank connectivity platform for online financial transactions.

In less than a year, Durrani’s predecessor left the bank with record profit growth. During the period, the bank achieved a massive profit of Rs 1.52 billion in 2022, compared to the earnings of Rs 100 million in 2021.

MCB Bank’s subsidiary is MCB Islamic Bank. The bank operates close to 200 locations around the nation.
